The 2017 DC Design House, Part 1

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I was able to make a quick trip to the DC Design House last week between work appointments. This year's design house is in a beautiful home in Potomac Maryland - the first time in a while that the house has been in a Maryland suburb.

So many past houses are memorable, but I think what makes this year's house so great is that almost every designer got a substantial space in which to create. Though there were some restrictions here and there (woodwork that couldn't be painted, for example), but it didn't feel like the designers were limited.

I posted live Instagram videos from the house, but also took a few pictures from just a couple spaces. I'm sharing a few from the first floor, along with images posted by the designers themselves on Instragram to pique your interest.

There is so much to see at the house this year that it's worth visit in person. The DC Design House is open Tuesday though Sunday until the end of the month. Proceeds benefit the Children's National Health System.
