A Sneak Peek into Evolution Home in Alexandria

This might just be a week of shop tours on Small & Chic. We'll see how many I sets of images I have stored on my iphone.

Today, I'm taking you to an antique store called Evolution Home that looks a lot like other stores of that kind of the surface. There are many vendors represented and each has their own booth where they display their collection of items. Evolution Home seems to have hit some sort of sweet spot when it comes to gathering a really great group of vendors.

Sure, there are some below-average items lurking, but there are also some pretty cool pieces. One booth was so good that I'm going to do a separate post on it tomorrow.

This enormous table was by Bernhardt and had extra leaves. The price seemed really reasonable.

I have never seen this chair in any color other than black. It's authentic.

Isn't that a cool bar cart? If it's still there, it's only $180 right now.

This is hotel silver, not sterling, but again, the prices were very reasonable and the pieces were in very good condition.

I think I overheard someone say the owner of the both shown in the next couple images is an interior designer.

Those are Ikea shelves that she painted gold. Pretty nice, right?

For those of you who have been looking to add to your throne collection, there was this set of chairs:

I didn't inspect this to see if it was an authentic Eames.

Are those from Dulles?

I don't know why I can't resist boxes of hardware for doors and drawers. I love looking at this stuff.

  1. I wouldn't have been able to leave without that cane barrel chair. Recover in hot pink velvet and it'd be amaaaazing.

  2. I love that you post about so many NoVa places, this is now on my place to visit (aka drag my husband to). I've been dying to find a place like this since I moved here!
