A Peek into Timothy Paul in Merrifield (Fairfax, VA)

Timothy Paul is a shop that's been supplying DC residents with fabulous rugs and bedding for years. I recently read about their new location in the Merrifield area of Fairfax on Jennifer Sergent's DC by Design blog. The post was about a fire at the original Timothy Paul shop. I had no idea there was a second location.

The newer store is in a shopping center that is in the "town center" style. It's called the Mosaic District. The shopping center is very large and has plenty of parking in garages above some of the stores. I made a quick trip over one day between appointments in the area to check it out. The space is huge!

They've done a great job of offering a variety of items, from large piece of furniture to small hostess gifts. Everywhere I turned, there was something interesting to inspect.

Forgive the iphone photos. When I first started blogging, my digital camera had the same number of megapixels that my iphone does. How funny that this photo quality seems so bad today, but was quite good years ago.

Timothy Paul is a destination for great textires and rugs. There were beautiful colors and soft fabrics everywhere.

This rug sample was incredibly soft. I thought about how nice it would be in the bedroom...and the color is pretty spot on for the paint color we used in that room.

My photo doesn't do the rug on the wall in the image below justice. It was stunning!

I didn't let myself walk into the bedding area. I picked my bedding out several weeks ago and don't want to second guess my choices!

This is a bit funny. As I was walking to the store, there was a couple in wedding attire having their portrait taken. It seemed like an odd place to have wedding photos taken, but it was fun to see the bride all dressed up.
They were outside Timothy Paul for a little while.

  1. It looks like a lovely shop. Too funny about the couple. Maybe they met there and wanted to recreate the scene for their photos?

  2. Gorgeous shop. I was in DC the other weekend, and our friends took us to this shopping center. Isn't it to DIE for? We went in the sweetest baby boutique, a small butcher shop, and a great organic market. It was a great place to shop!
