Design House Week: The Southern Living Showcase Home

Southern Living Magazine has had house plans for years. In recent years, they've established a network of builders who specialize in building and customizing the homes in the Southern Living portfolio. They call it their Custom Builder Program.

Companies in the network have been building "showcase homes" in different areas to introduce the public to the concept. If you're big into design blogs, you might remember Erin from House of Turquoise sharing pictures of a showcase house in Texas a few months ago.

This year, Charlottesville builder Summit Custom Homes is building a Southern Living Showcase Home on Ragged Mountain Farm in Ivy.

Tickets to tour the house are already on sale and they benefit two national charities, Operation Finally Home and Alex's Lemonade Stand.

The names on the sponsor list are great and many local suppliers are involved. Inside, Moyanne Harding, Stedman House, and Gibson Design Group will be working. I haven't seen any hints on Instagram or Twitter about what they are up to, but I guess we will all be surprised when we get to tour the house.

The showcase house's Facebook page has a few teaser images...
