Maison Small & Chic: The land of misfit tables

I think I'm in trouble.  Recently, I've been having a really hard time leaving sad, little tables alone.  Just the other day, I took in a knarly bedside table that had been painted with too thick coats of gloppy, white paint.  The two of the legs weren't connected to the lower shelf and the drawer wouldn't slide in and out without a bit of coaxing.

So, I took the little table in.  After a few days with rehab and a trip to Anthropologie for a pretty [pink!] knob, I gave it a nice coat of light gray paint.

I'm going to give it one more light coat of paint and then finish the job with some wipe on poly.

The problem: I love the little table now, but I have no use for it.  It'll be hard to pass on, but I guess I'm going to put it up on Craigslist later this week.

Anyone have a piece of furniture that needs a face lift?  This is getting addictive!

  1. Oh my gracious - I so get this!!!  It's both wonderful and horrible to pass up a really great piece that you don't need but want to refab...hence the awesome $10 coffee table in my garage that came home with me a year ago.  Love what you did here - the table is beautiful!

  6. Your furniture face-lift projects are contagious!  I was out walking Phoebe this evening and we passed this sturdy old chair.  I drove back and picked it up.  I was thinking it would look cool painted a bright, fun color.  What is your technique for prepping prior to painting?

PS Phoebe and I miss you and Baxter!  Hope things are going well at Walker Square :)
