No knock offs needed

There's a lot of buzz around who is designing dresses inspired by Kate Middleton's wedding gown. There isn't really any need because Romona Kevaza sent a grown down the runway during Bridal Fashion Week a few weeks ago that looks just like it.

As soon as Kate stepped out of the car, I thought of this post on Weddings Unveiled's blog, Completely Unveiled. I mentioned the Legends by Romona Keveza line a few weeks ago because it reminded me of my mother's wedding gown from the 1960s.

So, courtesy of the Completely Unveiled, possible proof that Romona Keveza is psychic...

She even got the veil and tiara right.
Romona's veil is more detailed and more beautiful, in my opinion.

A little volume where the train meets the dress seems like a close match, too.

What did you think of the Kate's dress?

More importantly, what did you think of Princess Beatrice's hat?

What do you think the guy on the left thought of the hat?

From The Hollywood Reporter

The hat now has a Facebook page.

  1. Wow. I am totally lol'ing at the FB page. It's just *such* a ridiculous hat, I think. I love the spectator hats that Kate has worn in the past - I think they are a lot of fun, when placed a bit more on the side of the head. I don't understand the deal with placing them on the forehead, though. It looks like every woman wearing one is about to have it fall off and stab herself in the eye.

  2. I was traveling back from VA Beach on Friday, and was listening to local NPR. In the 12-1 p.m. hour the host had Romona Keveza on the phone talking about this exact same dress. It was a very interesting conversation, and I'm glad you posted the picture. She really nailed it!

I think I'm the lone person on the planet who likes it. She's really transformed herself and looks wonderful.

    Beatrice "before":

  4. The Romona Kevaza dress is beautiful. I think I like it better than Kate's dress.
Tom and Lorenzo called Princess Bea's hat a "beribboned toilet seat." I can't figure out how it is affixed to her head. Did she glue it there? Same question for Victoria Beckham's. I like her coat. Princess Eugenie's dress is awful.

  5. I think the hats are brilliant. Wearable art.

  6. Wow.
I'm stunned by the similarities between the Kevaza bride, and Kate's wedding day ensemble!
It seems impossible that it's a coincidence!

I much prefer the lace Sara Burton chose (for the bodice) to the Kevaza bride's lace.
