The snowflakes were covered in German glass glitter (check out a pile of that glitter from this Etsy seller...it's pretty cool stuff). This glitter isn't the kind that comes off on your hands, it's shiny, large pieces of glass that will tarnish as time goes by. I used to hang them on my French doors during Christmas, but I started hanging wreaths a couple years ago instead. I sort of forgot about the snowflakes.
I found the snowflakes while going through decorations and really wanted to use them again. I thought about hanging them on the mirrors in the dining area, but there are six of them and only two snowflakes. So, I looked around for pairs and realized they'd look really cute hanging from a pair of lampshades.
Ta-da! Super cute, huh?
By the way, I'm not someone who decorates every surface for Christmas. I put a ribbon on Mr. Horsey over there, but that will be it for this area. The tree is just to the left, after all.
Now, THAT is creative!!! I think we need to carry these snowflakes at The Shade Shop! So cool!!
