Monticello in this month's House Beautiful

Last month, Mr. Jefferson's Charlottesville home was in Elle Decor. This month, it's in House Beautiful.

House Beautiful has a great piece this month called History's True Colors. It talks about how the colors that were probably used in colonial homes were far more bright and bold than many would expect. Okay, most bloggers are well aware of this, but it's still fun to see pictures from popular Virginia residences like Monticello, Mount Vernon, and Governor's Palace in shelter magazines.

The ladies at Casart Coverings have scans of the article, which hasn't popped up on the HB website yet.

  1. I have always been amazed at the colors in those historic homes.
