The List

For some reason, I'm thinking that putting this here will make inspire me to get all of this stuff done. No need to comment...unless you want to tell me that putting your "to do" list on your blog did/did not help you.

Here we go...
  • Finish patching hole in laundry
  • Paint laundry
  • Paint front closet & organize
  • Paint walk-in bedroom closet & organize
  • List high value items on Craigslist for sale
  • Send less value items to SPCA Rummage Sale store
  • Fill nail holes in and paint baseboards (never did that when the floors were redone)
  • Paint over terrible job I did painting the concrete on the patio
  • Add second coat of sealant to bathroom tile
  • Raise living room drapes
  • Paint bedroom (maybe)
  • Paint hallway (maybe)

Big projects in the future:
  • Upgrade kitchen counters
  • Add tile back splash
  • Tile kitchen floor

I'm kind of depressed looking at all of that. I don't buy lottery tickets, but I'm thinking that might be the best route to getting this all done in a timely manner.

  1. Ugh, I need to list stuff on craigslist too. And I will never make a list like this because mine will be 3 times as long - I was actually impressed yours is so short!

I didn't know the SPCA had stores like that though. It sounds neat. I should see if they have something like that near me.

  2. I posted a big ol' list on my blog a while back too. It's a doozie. Actually you just reminded me that I HAVE finished a couple things! Woo hoo! I think the list will help you.

  3. Just a few thoughts...I love your bedroom, and think it is perfect as-is.

Going through your clothes closet could take DAYS. Take it slow and have a big bottle of wine on hand. Once you have rid yourself of the discards, ASSESS the remainder and take the time to plan your closet organizer. Also take the time to thoroughly vacuum the corners for larvae, and inspect your remaining clothes for moth holes.

Wouldn't it be better to paint in the fall so you can leave the windows open? I would prioritize your truly excellent list and do your closet first; that way, you stay in the AC and get some $$ from your craigslist sales, which will help offset the other expenses.

  4. The good news is, with a list like that, you won't have time to get into any trouble.

My husband is off on Sunday for a week long fishing trip to Hot Creek, CA and I plan to take that time alone to tackle the closets (and stay out of trouble myself).

    Good luck with your projects!

  5. Just like eating an elephant - one bite at a time. Best of luck !!

  6. I have tried putting my TO DO items on the blog several times now. So far it hasn't helped. I will remind myself that tomorrow is a new day and change that outcome at any time moving forward. Good luck to you!

  7. Filling nail holes is the most thankless job ever. Good luck with the list!

  8. I love the idea of publicizing your to do list! It would definitely keep me more accountable for how I spend my time :) Ally of From the Left Bank used to post a monthly to do list that was always fun to read so you're in good company at least! Have a great (and productive) weekend!
