Evening hours at the Cville Design House start tonight!

I have a quick reminder that starting tonight, the Cville Design House will be open in the evening, from 4 PM until 7 PM. I haven't seen the house at night yet and I'm looking forward to it! Hope to see some of you there!

Here's your teaser picture of the day, taken with permission using my iPhone. This is a tiny glimpse into the phenomenal basement bathroom designed by Heidi Brooks of Heidi Brooks Interior Design (check out the before and after section on Heidi's website for some amazing transformations). When you get to this room at the house, look at the source book. Heidi saved a piece of the scary 80s wallpaper that covered every inch of wall space in this room (which is larger than the man cave next to it) when she got a hold of it. What she did was amazing!

Has anyone been to the house already? What did you think?

  1. I went Monday morning and thought everyone had done a very nice job working with some challenging room dimensions. There was a mix of styles, textures, and colors, but overall it worked. I hope there will be another Design House next year! Many people I've been talking to about it didn't know anything about it, so my concern is overall attendance. Let's continue to get the word out!!

  2. I hope they do this again, too. I also found that few people knew about the house, which is why I'm trying to promote it a little bit here.

Next year, I think they should take a cue from the DC Show House and do a big build up: announce the house a few months in advance, then announce the designers a little bit after that, they put out before pictures, etc. I think that would generate a lot of buzz.
