Cville Weekly's Abode

The little feature about my little living room is out in Cville Weekly's Abode magazine, which came out today. If you're local, you can find Abode inside Cville Weekly this week or in the turquoise blue boxes around town (I always grab mine right outside of the Ice Park on the downtown mall).

If you aren't local, you can read the piece on Cville Weekly's website. Also check out Simple Cville blogger Ed Warwick's monthly Rental Rescue column (if I link to his blog enough, maybe he'll start writing again). There's also a cool article about a local family that is living off the grid. Just last week there was a show on HGTV about a California couple that attempted to do the same, but was told by the local government that they had to have a HVAC system in the house they were building because "the sun is not a reliable source of energy." The couple thought the statement was so funny that they had it engraved on a plaque.

The video Caite White shot last week is on youtube now and I must say she is a dynamo at editing...my iMovie skills are terrible and I'm in awe of what she was able to put together.

  1. What a great article and the video is terrific! Now I'll hear your voice when I read your posts.

Everything in your home looks terrific. I'm not a chandelier person, but I *love* the one in your bathroom.

And my 9 y.o. daughter would kill for that pink leopard print chair.

  7. Love your space - you did a great job! You're really entertaining on camera too - relaxed and you seem to be totally "yourself". My fave is your dining nook - for some reason I pictured that was a much bigger space, so I was pleasantly surprised to see what you did what a relatively small space.
