Before & After in the City: The Bedroom, Part 2

The Manhattan series comes to a close today. I've been showing you before, during, and after pictures of my aunt and uncle's New York City co-op for the last few weeks.

As with the living room, there are a few things missing from the bedroom, but they should fall into place in the coming weeks. One of the bedside tables is still en route, a flat screen TV is destined for the dresser across from the bed, and some new art will go up eventually.

Something I learned from the transfer of these pictures is that the crystal candelabras on either side of the bed were wedding presents given to my grandparents. I had no idea!

The search for a lamp for the dresser in the picture below has been a long one. Anyone have any suggestions?

The plan is to finish this space off with a new flat screen TV and some new artwork.

These pictures don't do the dressers justice. They have designs inlaid in them. They also have soft closing drawers...the kind you typically see in kitchens. The mirror was moved into the bedroom from the foyer.

An alabaster light fixture from the second bedroom was moved to the hallway between the master bedroom and the master bath. I never noticed this fixture when it was in that second bedroom...what a good move!

I hope you've enjoyed the series! In the winter, I hope to post an update after seeing the space in person over the holidays.

  1. What a lovely space!!! I adore the bedspread...and love the fact that it goes all the way to the floor and beyond :)

  2. I think they did a great job of being simple, but luxurious in appropriate ways.
