Headed to ATL

We're headed to Atlanta soon for a wedding and while I have been there on business trips before, I have never had time to do much shopping. Anyone have some suggestions for the one free afternoon we have? Is there a dog friendly shopping district? We'll be staying at Kimpton's Palomar Hotel so we can have Baxter along with us. I can't wait to stay in yet another one of these hotels. They're fun from a design standpoint and the service is usually fantastic.

I can't wait to have a drink here:

And check out those chairs in the back ground in this picture of the restaurant:

It seems like the decorating scheme is a little more subdued. The Hotel Monaco in Alexandria, VA is a kaleidoscope. I find them both appealing, though.

  2. I have never been able to take a few minutes off for shopping when I have been there; however, the one place I would love to see is their aquarium. It's supposed to be fantastic (and there's always the gift shop). Have fun at the wedding.

  3. Definitely agree with flip flop and fancy free--Virginia Highlands is very cute, and easy to visit with a pup.

Also Piedmont Park and Centennial Olympic Parks are in the area, if you want somewhere green to walk the dog!

    Have fun!!

  4. Ballard Designs Outlet used to be there and used to be awesome. Have no idea if that is current information, though.
