Better than one lip

Tulips in my little dining nook

It's tulip season! For some reason, I'm always surprised when I see tulips at the flower shop or in the supermarket during the winter. They're my favorite flower, but I don't keep tabs on when they are in season. Whole Foods tends to have great specials on tulips at this time of the year and a nice bonus is that the flowers stocked at the store are almost always from right here in Virginia (the supplier is Fresh Tulips USA in Stevensburg, VA, near Culpepper).

From the Whole Foods blog...not a current picture

EDIT: If you love tulips, you might enjoy this page from the Fresh Tulips USA website that shows the different varieties and colors they grow. Here's another page that shows photos of their facility throughout the growing process.

By the way, this is my busy time at work. Before I started blogging, I cited this time of year when design bloggers asked why I wasn't doing this yet. I was worried about my ability to post daily during this time of year. There's little time for projects and I don't want to resort to posting inspiration pictures day after day. There are plenty of bloggers who do a beautiful job of that already. I hope you'll hang in there with me if I'm not the best blogger in the next few weeks.

  2. Thanks for the pretty flower pics. I am headed for Whole Foods today thanks to your inspiration, ahead of the snow that is coming. Don't stress about blogging, we'll be here when you are able to post.

  4. First of all - your dining room looks AWESOME - so glam! And especially with pretty tulips. :)

Don't worry about being busy! We'll all be here waiting...and everyone has phases and can't be expected to post daily! That's a lot of pressure! Besides, I personally really tire of random inspiration pics that get recycled on everyone's blogs and are from mags I already read...I'd rather see real content like what you normally do!

  7. Your dining nook is so fabulous! I wish I could have chairs like that, but my dumb cats would ruin them within two weeks. Don't worry about being busy, those of us with day jobs totally understand. It can be very stressful to post often when the rest of your life is so busy.
