Decor knock offs

How does Home Goods get stuff that looks like it could be part of Restoration Hardware's new collection so quickly? Is there an Alan Schwartz of decor who goes to work as soon as a new catalog hits the mailboxes?

Just for fun, here are some lamps I saw at a Home Goods up here in northern Virgina that were pretty cool (two of those red shades look like duds to me, but that double navy shade is pretty unusual!):

  1. Homegoods/TJ Maxx buyers are geniuses, aren't they? And when you see weird stuff there, it's beacuse sometimes they don't even know all the things they are getting, they have standard shipments set up with manufacturers and always have to buy whatever is included in the bundle. Very interesting stuff!

  2. I know, how do they do it?! I love to pop in there every now and again to see what I can find. Loving those mercury glass lamp bases! And that upholstered chair is perfect!

  3. HomeGoods can really have some finds. It can be cheaper to buy their framed art and replace it with your own art/photo vs. getting a custom frame job done.

  4. I've never been to Home Goods, but by the looks of things I'm totally missing out. I'm going to have to make a trip ASAP! It looks like the selection of lamps is way better than the ones at TJMaxx.
