Who needs Pottery Barn?

Anyone who lives in new construction is familiar with the strange "bar" that winds up in almost every condo built these days. It's higher than a normal bar and it calls for a really high stool or chair to be used with it. Those stools are usually pretty expensive. Pottery Barn wants $219 (plus shipping because you know they aren't stocking these at the Short Pump store in Richmond) for their 30" Napoleon stool...and that's the sale price.

Well lookie at what I found on the local Craigslist for $80.

If that funky damask doesn't fit your scheme, reupholstering stools like those is very easy. You can pick up a fabric remnant from The Second Yard (upstairs in the armoire in the cutting room) or Fabrics Unlimited (back room) and use a staple gun to secure your new fabric to the seat.
